BOARDING
OUR PHILOSOPHY ABOUT HORSE CARE
We believe in keeping our horses in as close to a "natural" state as possible. To accomplish this we keep them in a
group, because horses are social creatures. At the moment we have a herd of 6 well-behaved, mostly older horses
who all get along very well. We also keep the horses barefoot, as that is also the optimum condition for creating and
maintaining healthy feet, legs, and overall good health.

We have the capability to separate one to three horses as needed for short-term care, in the event of illness, injury,
or special dietary needs. We don't blanket except under extreme weather conditions, which is about twice a year.
We feed three times per day, on the ground. In extremely cold weather, we typically feed four or five times per day,
to ensure that the horses have enough calories to maintain a good weight. All horses are closely monitored for any
changes in attitude, behavior, etc., as well as for injuries. All horses receive frequent personal attention when we're
out and about cleaning or feeding.

LONG-TERM BOARDING
Occasionally we have an opening for a long-term boarder. If you are considering boarding your horse at our facility,
please email us. If we have an opening, we can give you a tour of our ranch and discuss how we can meet your needs.

SHORT-TERM BOARDING
We are happy to accommodate your horse while you are on vacation, selling your home, etc., as long as we have
space available.

DETAILS
We feed grass and/or alfalfa three and sometimes four-five times a day, depending on the weather. Fresh water and
salt blocks are always available. We can feed supplements you supply. All horses are observed daily for changes in
appetite, energy level, mood, and general health.

All long-term horses need to be compatible with sharing our 2-acre paddock with other horses.

All long-term horses must be unshod and kept trimmed at regular intervals.

We do not vaccinate our animals, but boarded horses may be vaccinated at the owner's discretion.
